“She just let me walk right up to her and get her. It was like she knew that I was there to save her.”
Starling and her two puppies were weary by the time rescuer Suzette Hall found them. She’d been abandoned, diligently caring for herself and her new brood while hoping for her family’s return.
A kind stranger noticed the abandoned puppies and contacted Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy Rescue, for assistance. The maternal dog’s behavior astounded Hall when she arrived.
Hall told us, “She simply let me walk straight up to her and get her.” “It was as though she knew I was coming to help her.”
Hall returned the dog to her car. Both pups, much to her amazement, followed directly behind them.
The long-time rescuer took the trio of pit bulls to the doctor, and the puppies were soon placed in foster care.
Hall brought Starling to the pups’ foster home after she left the clinic, where they had the nicest reunion ever.
“They were all overjoyed,” Hall added. “She was treating her puppies as though they were her pals.”
Starling lived in the foster home with her puppies for a bit before being adopted by another family.
Starling’s new foster parents fell in love with her almost immediately. And, in turn, Starling fell in love with the life she was always meant to have.
“They brought her to the movies in the park, out to lunch, and on beach walks,” Hall explained. “They’d even cook her meals and take her on road excursions.”
Starling’s parents promptly chose to adopt her and make her a permanent member of their family. Her babies were also adopted, and all three pit bulls are doing well in their new homes.
Hall misses Starling and her babies, but she’s relieved that their narrative has a happy conclusion.
“I’m overjoyed that everything came together wonderfully,” Hall added. “They’re completely living the dream and simply smiling the whole time.”
