The arrival of a new litter is always exciting, and it’s no different when it comes to puppies. This story is about Rosie, a beautiful golden retriever mix who was found on the streets and taken to Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue. The volunteers noticed that Rosie had a big tummy, and they quickly realized that she was pregnant.
Luckily, Rosie found a foster home with Katie and John Black, a couple with big hearts who have fostered over 20 dogs. They knew they were in for a big litter, but they weren’t expecting what came next.
Rosie gave birth to four healthy puppies, but they looked nothing like their mother. Instead of being golden, they were white with black or brown spots. They looked like baby cows!
Katie posted a picture of the unusual puppies on Reddit, and it quickly went viral. Everyone who saw the picture was amazed at the sight.
But for Rosie and John, it was business as usual. They took care of the puppies just like they would any other litter. In fact, they were so proud of the puppies that they gave them classic cow names like Daisy, Betsy, Clarabelle, and Moo.
It’s not unusual for dogs to have puppies that look different from them, especially when it comes to mixed breeds. According to Pets4Homes, non-pedigree dogs, mixed breeds, and deliberate crossings of two breeds often result in special combinations and colors.
For now, Katie and John are enjoying taking care of the adorable puppies, but they know that they will have to put them up for adoption soon. In the meantime, they’re having a lot of fun with them.
