“He loves stomach massages and back scratching, and he makes the cutest pig grunting noises when getting them.”

The Langley Animal Protection Society usually takes in cats, dogs, and other similar-sized animals, but when they got a call about an 800-pound animal in need, they knew they couldn’t turn him away, no matter how huge he was.

Theodore the pig was discovered alone in the streets of Langley, British Columbia, and no one knows where he came from. He was discovered on a busy road, so his rescuers realized it was critical to remove him to safety as soon as possible to avoid being hit by a passing automobile. It wasn’t easy getting an 800-pound pig to corporate, but Theodore’s rescuers didn’t give up, and he became an official Langley Animal Protection Society resident.

JAYNE NELSON

“His rescue was very uncomplicated,” Jayne Nelson, executive director of the Langley Animal Protection Society, told The Dodo. “However, he was really hesitant to get into the horse trailer.” “It took two hours and a chocolate chip granola bar to get him to go into the trailer.”

Once he was safe, Theodore’s rescuers looked for his family but were unsuccessful — thus, after he was neutered, they had the difficult chore of finding a family ready to take on such a large new family member.

Theodore is one of the loveliest creatures you’ll ever meet, despite his size. He only needs constant love and attention from those who care for him, and he would be a fantastic addition to the appropriate home.

“He loves stomach massages and back scratching, and he makes the cutest pig grunting noises while getting them,” Nelson added. “He likes to eat his favorite meals, grub about in his enclosure, and take lengthy naps on his soft straw nest.”

Theodore would thrive in a family that has the time, space, and energy to devote to him. He need a lot of space to run about in and must be fed twice or three times a day. His rescuers would want to locate a home with another pig so that Theodore has someone to socialize with and keep him company.

JAYNE NELSON

Theodore may be a touch large, but he makes up for it with a lot of love, which he’s prepared to offer to anybody who would love him back. Everyone who knows him adores him, and they’re all hopeful he’ll find the ideal forever family soon.
