The wet weather has brought more than just rain to Wicklow, Ireland. Sammy the Seal, the town’s most famous resident, has been spotted making more frequent “shopping trips” to the popular Fishman shop, much to the amusement (and slight exasperation) of the staff.
A hilarious photo captured by Twitter user Derek Byrne shows a patient fishmonger, Terry Durnin, gently ushering Sammy back into the water. Apparently, Sammy’s been feeling a bit peckish lately, thanks to the high tides and rain making it easier for him to hop out of the water.
However, Terry emphasizes that they can only feed Sammy a specific amount each day to maintain his wild instincts. The constant hopping back and forth is a challenge, but they’re doing their best to manage the situation.
