In 2016, a single phone call set in motion a rescue that would reveal the quiet power of maternal instinct.
A security guard at a supermarket parking lot in New Orleans noticed a frail, sick-looking mother dog wandering aimlessly between cars. She was visibly exhausted, underweight, and disoriented. Yet one detail stood out immediately: she had recently given birth — and her puppies were nowhere in sight.
