Snakes don’t ‘size up’ their meals. Snakes are opportunistic feeders That will eat when it hungry and when food is available.
We had snakes growing up, very large snakes from 8 to 10 ft. They would get out at night even though we had locks on there cage and sunder blocks to hold down the tops. We kids would wake up n the snakes would wrap around us for body heat . Never squeezed us but very well could have. We would wake up in terror screaming for our parents. So you literally have to keep them locked in we’re they cannot get out. Also in comments above about snakes can’t eat people , b.s. snakes can eat alligators , full grown 8 ft alligators. So a big enough snake could eat a person.
