When he noticed a duck stuck behind the ice on the surface of a lake in Norway, he didn’t think twice before leaping into the freezing water, cracking the ice, saving the duck, and making a new feathery friend in the process!
Lars Jrun Langien, a 36-year-old ice bather (and duck rescuer), was already there to do what most of us would consider insane: leap into a freezing lake. He was already in swimsuit when he saw the duck, so he dived in to save it and provided it mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
Some people now refer to Langien Karl as “King of Ducks,” and the moniker is undoubtedly appropriate!
