When he noticed a duck stuck behind the ice on the surface of a lake in Norway, he didn’t think twice before leaping into the freezing water, cracking the ice, saving the duck, and making a new feathery friend in the process!
Lars Jrun Langien, a 36-year-old ice bather (and duck rescuer), was already there to do what most of us would consider insane: leap into a freezing lake. He was already in swimsuit when he saw the duck, so he dived in to save it and provided it mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
Some people now refer to Langien Karl as “King of Ducks,” and the moniker is undoubtedly appropriate!

This duck was taking a stroll on the frozen lake

The poor schmuck was suddenly stuck beneath the ice!

It was pure luck that Lars dived into the icy water to save the day!

All hail Lars, the new King of Ducks!
