Do you see it? 🕵️♀️
Jessica was recently out on a hike with her dog and boyfriend along the I & M Canal south of Chicago, keeping an eye out for any possible sightings of wild creatures. On her treks, she has captured a variety of animals on camera and enjoys adding new images to her collection.
Jessica, who asked that her last name not be used, told us, “I like to snap images of creatures, intriguing or lovely insects, birds, flowers, landscapes, and skyscapes.” “I just like being outside in the middle of everything, and I want pictures for souvenirs and memories,”
A large snake was hanging out on a floating log approximately 4 feet in front of Jessica as she hiked and kept an eye out for animals.
“[He] was simply there, at my feet,” stated Jessica.
The snake was motionless, coated in moss and water-borne leaves. Jessica swiftly took a picture and left in order to give the snake some space to unwind because she didn’t want to remain for too long. Because she didn’t want to disturb him, she didn’t really get a good look at him, but she was glad to have the photo to capture the occasion.
Jessica later returned to the image and noticed that the enormous serpent had been concealing something.
He wasn’t even a huge snake; rather, he was just two lesser snakes hanging out next to each other on the log.
It’s understandable how Jessica overlooked this important fact given the snakes’ excellent concealment and the short amount of time she spent looking at them. But after carefully examining the image, she saw that there were in fact two snakes there, and she couldn’t help but giggle.
Jessica was the victim of a practical prank that the snakes had unintentionally perpetrated on her, and it brightened her day.
