A cop rescues a donkey from a dangerous highway and transports it safely in his police cruiser

Robin Strader, of Norman, Oklahoma, was travelling to work when she noticed something strange in the center of the busy highway she was on. A terrified donkey was stumbling along the path. The woman pulled over her car and stepped out to aid the terrified beast, but not before calling the cops.

Officer Kyle Canaan of the Norman Police Department arrived on the scene shortly after. Meanwhile, Robin had gotten the donkey off the road in some way. Officer Canaan wasn’t sure how to deal with this strange situation at first, but he quickly figured it out. The woman volunteered to foster Squishy, the donkey they had named, at her house a few miles away. Officer Canaan decides to offer Squishy a ride-along because a regular transit vehicle would take too long to arrive. Squishy enthusiastically accepted the invitation.

The City of Norman, OK Police Department posted on Facebook, “Our officers experience unexpected things every day while on-duty.” “Officer Kyle Canaan responded to a complaint of a loose donkey in the 8100 block of 120th Avenue NE this morning. To secure the donkey’s protection, he assisted in transporting it to a neighboring property where it would be protected until its owner could be found. It’s not every day that you see a police vehicle with a donkey in the backseat!”

The rescue donkey seemed unconcerned about riding in the rear of the patrol car, which is often intended for criminals. More than that, the two got along swimmingly and even had a good time on their journey. With the exception of one item. Canaan told KFOR, “It used the potty in the rear of my police car.” “I mean, that had to have been just after breakfast since there was so much.”

The most important thing is that officer Canaan got his four-legged passenger to Robin’s house safely. He even expressed an interest in adopting it if no one else was prepared to do so.
