The Changing Sky in One Brilliant Image is Captured by an 18-Year-Stunning Old’s Time Slice Photo

Cal Cole is only 18 years old, yet his time slice photography has already garnered him notice. The British student’s innovative shot of a pylon recently became popular on Reddit, which was a pleasant surprise. It’s easy to see why the photo has gotten so much attention just by looking at it.

Cole brilliantly fashioned a stained-glass window out of the pylon. Indeed, its geometric construction provides the ideal backdrop for Cole’s hour-long shot of the changing colors of the sky. In total, 14 pictures were utilized to create the image, which was highly influenced by artist Alex Hyner’s work, according to Cole. The post-production process took around five or six hours, and Cole wasn’t sure what to make of the finished product at first.

“I wasn’t sure how great it would come out for a long time,” Cole tells My Modern Met. “However, I emailed the photograph to my friends for feedback, which I usually do since they are honest with me, and they stated it was one of my greatest photos.” That’s when I understood I’d found something I really liked.”

This incident merely goes to show how difficult it is for creatives to objectively perceive the power of their work. Cole, thankfully, did publish his photo on Instagram and even revealed some of his editing techniques. It was then shared on Reddit, where it received over 87,000 upvotes. While Cole was thrilled by the attention, he found it “frustrating” because the original poster had not given him credit for his effort. Fortunately, others in the conversation gave him the recognition he deserved, allowing more people to learn about his efforts.

Cole isn’t sure what the future holds for him. What he does know is that he aspires to work in the film, photography, or graphic design industries. We’re certain that he’ll achieve his goal, based on what he’s achieved thus far.

Cal Cole, who is 18 years old, explained how he created his viral time slice shot, which was made up of 14 photographs.

The end result is a unique shot that captures the sky’s vibrant colors.

Take a look at some of the amazing photographer’s other time slices.
