The incredibly uncommon agate rock was recently discovered in Brazil’s Soledade area. The fact that it looks similar to Cookie Monster just adds to its uniqueness.
Mike Bowers, a rock expert from California who appears to possess this one, claimed the stone was discovered in November 2020 and might be valued up to $10,000 owing to its rarity.
The stone’s rarity stems from the fact that its two halves merge to form an exact egg shape. The light blue quartz crystals also have an eerie resemblance to the Cookie Monster when split in half.
‘I think this is probably the most ideal Cookie Monster out there,’ Bowers remarked. I’ve seen several, but this one is entire (both sides). Lucas Fassari is the one who discovered it.
‘This is a rare occurrence! There are a few well-known agates: the owl, the terrified face, and so on. There are many similar agates, but it’s unusual to find clear, well-defined ones like that.
‘Prices might be exorbitant. Five separate bidders offered me over $10,000. Rare.’
Bowers just posted a video on Facebook showing off his new rock, which was accompanied by a Sesame Street soundtrack featuring Cookie Monster signing about the letter C.
According to Wikipedia, agate is a rock composed primarily of chalcedony and quartz. Agates come in a broad range of hues and are generated mostly in volcanic and metamorphic rocks.
Agate was first used as a decoration in Ancient Greece, in various jewelry and in the seal stones of Greek soldiers. Could it be that they were already aware of Cookie Monster’s legendary power?
