She was treated to french fries right away 🍟
Alex da Ponte had just drove through the McDonald’s drive-through with her children when she observed a little orange cat jumping into people’s cars. She saw the cat was wearing a collar and wondered whether she belonged to someone close, but immediately realized the cat was on her own.
“I drove out of the drive-through line and into a parking place,” da Ponte said to The Dodo. “I witnessed two other families try to avoid the cat as they returned to their automobiles from the parking area… That’s when I decided to go out and fetch her. No one else was assisting her, and she plainly required assistance. She was itching to get into a car.”
When Da Ponte called to the cat, she ran over without hesitation. She knew this was the family she’d been looking for.
“She was ready to get out of there,” da Ponte stated.
Da Ponte’s kid named the cat Seats after they were all securely in the car. The small cat seemed unfazed and immediately settled in the car, snuggling with da Ponte’s kid, gazing out the window, and investigating her new surroundings.
“In the vehicle, she was entirely at peace,” da Ponte stated.
She was so relaxed that she snuck a french fry when the supper arrived. Seats the McDonald’s cat had da Ponte and her kid utterly smitten within minutes.
When they returned home, da Ponte settled Seats in and began looking for a foster home for her. Their neighbors stepped up to take her — and it didn’t take long for them to fall in love with her as well.
“They failed miserably as foster parents and adopted her,” da Ponte explained. “So Seats is now our next-door neighbor!”
Da Ponte knew she needed help the instant she noticed Seats, and now she’s grateful she stopped to invite her inside the car.
