Turning fire hydrants into drinking fountains (while keeping their original function) makes cities better places to live – especially in summertime.
We love this idea. An easy and humane (especially in summertime) way to make use of all those lonesome fire hydrants in cities that are only used once in a long while. They are turned into drinking fountains that are of direct use to everyone, while retaining their original function.
Hopefully, we will see more of this cool thing (invented by four Hungarian architecture students: Sarolta Hüttl, Judit Soltész, Zsófi Zétényi and Zsófia Zoletnik) in Budapest, Hungary – where a testing phase is under way – and elsewhere soon.
