Chewie is a seasoned senior woman who has been with her family since she was a young puppy. Chewie was adopted by Jana Tuchin shortly after her husband unexpectedly passed away, and by never leaving her side, he greatly helped her go through her grief. Tuchin promised Chewie that she would live her best life for as long as she is alive after everything they had been through together.

Chewie was completely obsessed ever since she began her water therapy. Her therapist sets her up with floaties so she can simply float around the pool; she finds it to be so comfortable and calming that she typically nods out immediately.
Chewie’s mother, Jana Tuchin, told us, “I would make her exercise her limbs because I was scared when she first relaxed like that. “The therapist expressed how fantastic it feels for her to experience weightlessness and how happy she made him. After I reposition her, she now nearly always calms.

The floaties provide Chewie a sense of independence in the pool by enabling her to completely unwind and let the water carry her around. In the winter, she typically gets to swim twice a week, and in the summer, she gets to swim almost every day. She enjoys lounging in the water and taking naps there, but she also likes to play occasionally, demonstrating that no dog is ever too old to express their inner puppy.

Her mother will continue to allow her to take floating naps as frequently as she can for the remainder of her golden years because they are so important to Chewie.
