While staying at Jack’s Camp in the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park in northern Botswana, South African wildlife photographer Nick Kleer was greeted by a friendly meerkat. Kleer just lay down on the ground, surrounded by the gregarious suricates. Kleer’s head and torso were even employed as strategic lookout positions. Kleer expressed his happiness by saying that he was enjoying the time of his life.
With these magnificent creatures, it’s like a small slice of heaven… A very unforgettable couple of days spent in the Makadikadi bush with this family of meerkats… As you can see, I went up up and personal with these wonderful creatures. It was an unforgettable experience for me, and it was a true honor to get to know these (sic) little ones better.
