A lioness was seen on video sheltering a young wildebeest

While the animal realm is full with strange friendships, this is by far the strangest wildlife encounter I’ve ever witnessed. A lioness was seen on camera expressing devotion to what should have been her lunch – a wildebeest calf! It was the type of event that only happens once in a lifetime!

Everyone was perplexed by the lioness’ decision to defend the helpless animals rather than chase it down. Her mother instincts proved to be significantly stronger than her predatory impulses, which is the only reason.

The video title says, “Wilderbeast strolling with the Lioness at Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.” “This is what happens when mother instinct triumphs over predatory instinct!”

Take a look at the spectacular scene below!

This isn’t the first time a lion has shown devotion to a wildebeest, as bizarre as it may seem. A lioness was videotaped a few years ago caring for a newborn wildebeest calf as if it were her own child. The scene, which was part of the nature documentary Surviving the Serengeti, went viral on social media and received millions of views.
