Can you spot him? 🕵️♀️
Lauren, a lady, was roaming about the Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden in Greensboro, North Carolina, just enjoying the sights. Everything was calm, tranquil, and leisurely – until a little chipmunk darted out in front of her.
“As I approached, I watched the little guy run across the walkway and plunge into their burrow (and yes, they had goodies crammed in their little cheeks),” Lauren (who asked that her last name not be used) informed us.
She was immediately drawn to the charming passerby and decided to wait for him to emerge from his burrow again so she could photograph him. She stood beside his hole, looking about at the garden, when she noticed he was staring at her.
“I waited a minute or two till they poked their heads out to see whether the coast was clear,” Lauren explained.
Because the coast wasn’t clear, the chipmunk maintained a tight eye on Lauren, his inquisitive eyes fixed on her. He was first difficult to spot, peeping out from his tunnel hidden amid the leaves. Lauren took a few shots before gently walking away to give the nervous chipmunk some room; as soon as she did, he sprang out of his burrow and scampered away.
The entire conversation lasted only a few minutes, but it made Lauren’s day — and the images she took have provided joy to many others as well.
