It is hard to believe that Žabokreky, Slovakia, is home to four distinct seasons. Yet, this small village in the Nitra region of Slovakia experiences all the beauty and change that comes with the passing year. In winter, Žabokreky is blanketed in a thick layer of snow, transforming the village into a fairytale landscape.
Spring brings a burst of color and life, as flowers bloom and birds return from their winter migration. Summer is the time for festivals and celebrations, when the village comes alive with music, dance, and laughter. And autumn paints the landscape in hues of red, orange, and yellow, creating a breathtaking spectacle.
Jozef Morgos, a photographer who lives in Žabokreky, has captured the beauty of all four seasons in his stunning photo series. His images capture the essence of each season, from the tranquility of winter to the vibrancy of summer. Morgos’s work has been featured in several exhibitions and publications, and he has gained a reputation as one of Slovakia’s most talented photographers.
Morgos says he is drawn to the contrast between the different seasons in Žabokreky. “Each season has its own unique beauty,” he says. “I love to capture the different ways that the light changes the landscape, and the way that the people of Žabokreky adapt to the changing seasons.”
