Traveling around Namibian desert and wild savannas, photographer Konsta Punkka captured the life of Himba people and the beautiful wildlife around the country. This is where the sand dunes meet a dry lake bed.

Namibia is a country in southwestern Africa known for its diverse landscapes, including the Namib Desert, one of the oldest and driest deserts in the world. The country is also home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, rhinos, and zebras.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in Namibia is Sossusvlei, a salt pan surrounded by towering red sand dunes. The dunes are best photographed in the late afternoon light, when they cast long shadows across the pan.

Another popular photography spot in Namibia is Deadvlei, a white clay pan that is home to dead camel thorn trees that are hundreds of years old. The trees died when the water table in the area dropped, but their remains are still standing, creating a stark and eerie landscape.

Spend time with the local Himba people, understanding their unique cultures.

In addition to its natural beauty, Namibia is also home to a number of indigenous peoples, including the Himba people. The Himba are a semi-nomadic tribe who have lived in northern Namibia for centuries. They are known for their distinctive red ochre body paint and intricate jewelry.

The Himba people have a deep respect for nature and believe that they are interconnected with all living things. They are also skilled in agriculture, animal husbandry, and hunting.

Himba women often wear handmade, traditional jewelry and are distinguished by their braided, red mud-covered hair.

If you are planning a trip to Namibia, be sure to visit Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, and the Himba people. These are just a few of the many amazing things that Namibia has to offer.
