“I think he was hoping each person would give him treats.”
Rocky was the first thing Sophia Coleman noticed when she arrived for her first date with her now-husband, Josh. She fell in love with the small senior rescue pup right away, and she soon fell in love with Josh as well. Rocky has been there for them throughout their relationship, so when it came time to plan their wedding, they knew they wanted him to play a significant role.
“We’ve had ups and downs in our relationship, and Rocky has always been there to remind us what genuine love is,” Coleman explained.
They decided Rocky would be the “best pup” and ring bearer at the ceremony. They bought him a tiny outfit to wear, and he looked absolutely lovely with the costume and his permanent “blep” from losing some teeth. Is there anything cuter than a dog wearing a small purple tie and sticking out his tongue? Most likely not.
Rocky was supposed to go down the aisle as the ring bearer in front of all of the wedding guests, which the couple didn’t think would be too difficult. Rocky, while being a grouchy old man on sometimes, adores humans.
“Despite being 13 years old, he is quite the lively little boy,” Coleman added.
When the big day arrived, Rocky took his tasks extremely seriously… for the most part.
Coleman stated, “It took a lot of persuasion and bribes to get him to walk down the aisle in front of 80 guests.” “He behaved excellent at the rehearsal when there were no people present, but he was a little preoccupied by the visitors during the real ceremony!” I guess he was looking for goodies from everyone.”
Rocky walked down the aisle and stood by his parents’ side while they were married, barely slightly interrupting them. While everyone enjoyed witnessing the couple marry, it’s conceivable that Rocky enjoyed being up there with them even more.
Coleman remarked, “Everyone liked seeing him in his lovely little costume.” “There was a lot of enthusiastic laughing as he walked down the aisle.” He was the true star of the show!”
Rocky’s obligations ended as the wedding ended, and his parents escorted him to the bridal suite to rest. Rocky, on the other hand, wasn’t thrilled with the notion and found a way to make a well-deserved presence at the reception as well.
“He was still in the same building as the reception, but we decided it would be better if he got some rest, and we also didn’t want everyone tripping over him,” Coleman explained. “At one time, he did break through the baby gate and flee when the bridal room door was unlocked.” He discovered my husband and me right away and wanted to spend the entire night with us!”
Rocky ended up playing his roles the way he wanted to, and his parents wouldn’t have had it any other way.
