Lauren Alondra’s boyfriend was driving up to their house when he noticed a corgi pacing in front of their gate. He appeared scared and perplexed, and he looked inside the gate as if he wanted to get in. Alondra’s boyfriend called her from the car and told her what was going on, and she told him to open the gate and see if the corgi would come in, which he did.

The dog ran inside as soon as the gate opened and kept running until he found a place to hide between the fence and the back of the house. He refused to move when the couple approached him. The poor little guy was terrified, but after sitting with him for a while and assuring him that everything was fine, he let them pick him up and rush him to the vet.
Despite the fact that he wasn’t chipped, Alondra was able to locate the dog’s mother after posting about the rescue online. She claimed she had to leave her dog, Buddy, behind when she and her ex split up, and that she thought he had rehomed Buddy. She was so grateful to the couple for finding him and ensuring his safety that she asked if they wanted to adopt him.
Alondra told The Dodo, “He gets along well with my three other dogs.” “The owner said she’d like it if we could [adopt him] because he’s doing so well with us.” We are happy to take on a fourth dog, despite the fact that it is a lot of responsibility. He fits right in at our house.”
Buddy was terrified when he was first rescued, but as soon as he realized he was safe, he began to come out of his shell, and he’s now transformed into the sweetest, most playful little dog.
“There’s a significant difference in him now,” Alondra observed. “He is acclimating very well, as he was initially terrified and appeared traumatized by whatever he had gone through.” He is now very cheerful and playful… He enjoys belly rubs and fetch. We’re doing everything we can to socialize him, and he’ll now accept a belly rub from anyone!”
Alondra and her boyfriend had no intention of adopting another dog, but Buddy appeared at their gate for a reason, and they are overjoyed that he has found his way into their family.
“We’re just grateful he came up to our gate at the right time and found a safe place with us,” Alondra said.
