“Each day that passes I realize animals are in this world to teach us what pure love is, and that all humans should spread it.”
Dog is good.
At least, that was the gracious attitude of one pet-friendly priest in Brazil, whose recent church service was overshadowed by a wagging tail.
Father José Geraldo Sobreira was leading mass at the Nossa Senhora das Dores parish earlier this month when a random dog came in.
The puppy was clearly thinking about playing.
Rather than evicting the furry new parishioner, the priest did the opposite. Despite the adorable little distraction at his feet, Sobreira embraced the dog’s presence and continued the service with a smile.
Here’s a video of that adorable scene:
Though it’s unclear where the dog came from, people online have interpreted the visit as divine.
Sobreira has received a lot of praise since then for how he received that “angel with four paws.”
“Beautiful father! I loved your gesture!” one commenter wrote of Sobreira. “Each day that passes I realize animals are in this world to teach us what pure love is, and that all humans should spread it.”
