After being rescued in Cameroon, an orphaned baby gorilla cuddled up to his caregiver in this sweet moment.

The gorilla, named Bobga, has been transferred to the Limbe Wildlife Centre, where he is being adored and cared for by nursery workers.

And these photos show Bobga clearly bonding with them, as he is seen getting into the lap of caregiver Alvin Muma.

Laura Craddock, the centre’s Fundraising and Communications co-ordinator who snapped the photos, said Bobga has a huge, safe enclosure that he lives in when not playing in the nursery.

‘It is crucial for an orphan gorilla, like Bobga, to feel safe and secure with his caretaker, and here these images depict delicate moments of relaxation between Bobga and one of his loyal caretakers, Alvin,’ said the 32-year-old from London.

‘Foraging, playing, developing social skills, sparking curiosity, climbing, and grooming are all important aspects of his rehabilitation, as are the others.’

‘We provide victims of illegal wildlife trafficking a second chance, educate the local population about environmental conservation, and provide alternative employment to ex-hunting communities,’ she added.
