Police in the southeast Chinese province of Fujian were able to apprehend a thief with the aid of two dead mosquitoes.

It was discovered that the 1993 film “Jurassic Park,” in which scientists recovered dinosaur DNA from mosquitoes preserved in amber, provided as inspiration for the police.

According to authorities, the intruder, who entered the house from the balcony, prepared his own meal, stayed the night, and then left the next morning.

According to reports, the thief also stole a number of items.

Two dead mosquitoes and blood smears were discovered by the police when they arrived, and as the living room walls had just been painted, they assumed that the blood smears were left by the burglar.

They collected blood samples from the walls and sent them to have their records compared to the samples.

The DNA sample matched that of a recently detained criminal named “Chai,” who is a known felon.

‘Chai’ admitted to the break-in and four further crimes after being questioned.
