When Jennifer Adleman saw the newborn animal in peril, she was peering into her backyard. A peanut butter jar was placed over the head of a young fox. She rushed outdoors to assist him in the hopes that she might gently take the jar and release him. But the animal fled because it was so terrified.

Adleman phoned the Animal Humane Society when she realized she needed assistance, but neither she nor animal control were able to locate him in the woods.

Adleman afterwards heard his mother calling for her young, but the baby fox was not to be found. Adleman ultimately obtained a cage from a rescuer and, in the hopes that the trap would be successful, placed some food beside it. She waited up all night for the fox to appear, but instead two fat raccoons showed up! Then she quickly used the net she had just obtained!

Thankfully, removing the jar from the fox’s head didn’t take long. Adleman was relieved to see that he appeared to be doing well, and she knew it was appropriate to let him go back to his family. “I still think this is one of my best achievements,” she said to us afterward.
