In order to give birth to a calf, a pregnant cow that was being transported to a slaughterhouse in New Jersey fled the cattle truck.
According to Skylands Animal Sanctuary and Rescue in Wantage, New Jersey, the calf, called Winter, was born on Saturday. The weight of Winter was omitted.

Around 2.40 am on Thursday, Winter’s mother, afterwards known as Brianna, escaped from a cattle truck traveling on Route 80 and headed for the slaughterhouse. Brianna was then pursued by the police all the way along Route 80.
Jerry Speziale, the director of the Paterson Police Department, said that Brianna violently kicked open the livestock trailer’s door.
Then she sprang onto the road. After being apprehended, Brianna was taken up by the animal sanctuary.
She flew out of the vehicle when it was less than ten minutes from the slaughterhouse, the shelter stated on its Facebook page.
Both of them are secure and now reside at the sanctuary.
The calf Winter made its first steps earlier this week. This event, along with her birth and arrival, were captured on camera and posted to Skylands’ social media accounts.
