An unwitting photographer noticed a frost formation on a rock that resembled a fish eye.

Leigh Pugh was photographing the sunrise in the Derbyshire Peak District when he became aware that he was being watched.

He shared a photo of the frozen puddle on social media, where many users commented that the rock looked like a fish’s – or even a dragon’s – head.

According to the 51-year-old, he was “just in the right place at the right time.”

Mr Pugh discovered the strange formation on Stanton Moor Edge, near Birchover, last week.

He claimed it was too cloudy to photograph the sunrise, but as he was leaving, he noticed something odd.

Mr Pugh said he could not believe how lifelike it was

“As I turned to go back, I noticed it looking at me – I couldn’t believe how lifelike it was with the thick layer of frost,” he explained.

“So this fantastic discovery made up for my disappointment with the sunrise.”

Mr Pugh, from Darley Dale, said he had never seen anything like it before and does not expect to see anything like it again.

“I suppose it was just being in the right place at the right time,” he added.

Nature’s eye! Beware, you’re being watched!! 🧐😮

Bizarre frost formation on a rock, spotted in the Derbyshire Peak District, England.

This intriguing formation, which resembles a fish’s or perhaps a dragon’s head, was discovered by Leigh Pugh on Stanton Moor Edge, near Birchover, when he was out trying to capture a photo of the sunrise. However, it was too cloudy to get a proper photo and that is when the photographer got the feeling that he was being watched.

“As I turned around to head back I noticed it looking at me – I couldn’t believe how lifelike it was with the thick layer of frost,” he stated. The photographer said he had never seen anything like it before, but he was just at the right place at the right time. For sure, this incredible discovery did compensate for the disappointment incurred from the sunrise photo not being made possible.
