Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo

You may need to squint to see the newest addition to Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo.

The Welsh zoo announced on Facebook on November 1 that their Kirk’s dik-dik Lady Coconut had given birth to a female foal.

According to the African Wildlife Foundation, the Kirk’s dik-dik, which is native to six African countries, is one of the world’s smallest antelope species, growing to weigh only 6 to 13 pounds.

“We have a new baby animal at the zoo – Dik Dik ‘Lady Coconut’ gave birth to a teenie female calf last week,” posted Folly Farm, which is based in Begelly, Wales, on social media.

“Keepers have called the adorable new arrival ‘Bounty,'” the U.K. zoo said in a post that included many photographs of Bounty in her special habitat with mum Lady Coconut.

Folly Farm finished its online birth announcement, “Bounty is currently staying cozy beneath her heat lamp indoors, so she isn’t on display to the public as of yet.”

While Bounty is out of the zoo, Folly Farm keeps her followers up to date on Facebook.

The park captioned a Nov. 4 video showing Bounty peering at the camera and wriggling her small nose, “Just another helping of sweetness courtesy to Bounty.”

On November 7, Folly Farm released another Bounty video. Bounty wanders around her environment with her mother, Lady Coconut, in the video.

While admirers wait for the infant dik-public dik’s appearance, the zoo announced on Facebook that it would continue to give Bounty updates online.
