The Cascade Volcanic Arc is a remarkable chain of mountains that stretches from northern California all the way to British Columbia, Canada. Along this stunning range lies some of the most well-known and active volcanoes in North America, including Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Rainier.

Captured in a single photo taken from a plane, these five majestic peaks are a sight to behold. Mt. Hood stands proudly in the center of the frame, while the snow-capped summits of the other mountains can be seen in the background, forming a dramatic backdrop to the scene.

Mt. Jefferson, with its distinctive pyramid shape, is the second tallest peak in Oregon and dominates the skyline of the state’s central Cascade Range. Mt. Adams, located in southern Washington, is known for its broad, flat summit and stunning views of nearby Mt. St. Helens.

Mt. St. Helens itself is a famous stratovolcano that erupted catastrophically in 1980, changing the surrounding landscape and sending ash as far as 700 miles away. Meanwhile, Mt. Rainier, the highest peak in the Cascade Range, is a majestic stratovolcano that boasts numerous glaciers and attracts climbers and hikers from around the world.

Taken together, these five peaks showcase the incredible natural beauty and geological activity of the Cascade Volcanic Arc. From their towering heights to their snow-capped summits, these mountains are a reminder of the incredible forces of nature that shape our world.
