A dog trapped in hardened concrete was dramatically rescued after her desperate barking alerted nearby residents, leading emergency teams to an active construction site in Aydın, Turkey.
For hours, people living near the area reported hearing persistent cries coming from the construction site, where a fresh layer of concrete had recently been poured. Concerned that an animal might be in distress, they contacted members of the local AKUT Search and Rescue Association to investigate.
When rescuers arrived, they discovered a heartbreaking scene.
The frightened dog was partially encased in hardened concrete, unable to move or free herself.
Although exactly how she became trapped remains unclear, rescuers believe the dog may have walked across concrete that had not fully hardened before slipping into nearby construction debris. As the concrete continued to set, it bonded around her body and the surrounding rubble, leaving her completely immobilized.
Realizing every minute mattered, rescue workers began an extremely delicate operation to free the animal.
Using specialized power chisels and hand tools, they carefully broke away the hardened concrete piece by piece, taking great care not to injure the exhausted dog.
The painstaking rescue lasted approximately seven hours before the team was finally able to lift her safely from what had effectively become a concrete prison.
Although frightened and exhausted after the ordeal, the dog survived. Only small amounts of concrete remained attached to her fur after the rescue.
Rescuers immediately provided emergency care, including intravenous fluids to help stabilize her after spending so many hours trapped without food or water.
The dog was then transported to a local veterinary clinic for a full medical examination.
At first, rescuers believed she was a stray.
However, local reports later revealed that the dog’s name is Paris and that she has a family who had been desperately searching for her.
Following veterinary treatment, Paris was found to be in good condition and was safely reunited with her relieved owner, bringing the dramatic rescue to a joyful conclusion.
The operation has since been praised as an example of how quick action, community awareness, and skilled emergency responders can save lives—even under the most difficult circumstances.
