Dog Takes A Moment To Say A Heartfelt Goodbye To The Season’s Last Snow

“He definitely holds onto winter as long as he can.”

Storm has been enamored with snow from the day his family brought him home. Every year, he gets so thrilled for winter and spends the whole season frolicking in the snow as much as he possibly can.

“In the winter, he spends half of his day outside in the snow and refuses to come inside,” Storm’s mother, Stephanie Larson, told The Dodo. “Most of the time, he’s covered in snowballs and fully soaked by the time we can coerce him into coming in.” He is always depressed at the start of spring… He absolutely clings to winter for as long as he can.”

Storm’s parents started making a snow pile for him on the terrace every winter as soon as they noticed how much he loves snow. That way, even if the snow on the grass began to melt, his snow adventures might linger a little longer in the large, fluffy mound.

The weather in Michigan has recently begun to warm up. Larson felt Storm’s snow mound on the deck wasn’t going to survive much longer — and Storm, it seemed, did as well.

“He noticed immediately away since there was no longer any snow on any other portions of the deck and there was very little snow to step through on our walks,” Larson added.

The snow mound has been there in various forms since December. Storm had been playing with it all winter, and now it was time to say good-by. Storm spent the day with the pile as it melted piece by bit. He rolled on it and cuddled up against it, bidding farewell to his beloved winter.

Finally, the mound dissolved and vanished — but happily for Storm, it didn’t vanish for long.

“It did completely melt on the fifth, but the next Monday we received snow, so it’s back,” Larson explained.

The pile is now somewhat little, but that is fine. Storm cherishes every opportunity he has to play in the snow and wishes he could do so all year. In the summer, his family sets up ice baths for him outside, but it’s not quite the same.

“Some [people] have requested that we relocate to a place where it is frigid all year, such as Antarctica,” Larson added.
