This Street, That Street, The Other Street: When Canada Runs Out of Street Names

by Stephen King Leave a Comment

A small town in Canada has appearently run out of ideas for street names, giving comic relief for web surfers who discovered the road names there.

“Hey man, which street you on?” “Oh, that street” “This street?” “No, that street!”

Indeed, there must be a lot of confusion when people try to get to some addresses for the first time in Porters Lake, Nova Scotia, Canada. The small town seems to have run out of ideas for street names, so they came up with names like “This Street,” “That Street” and “The Other Street.”

However, the Porters Lake community is not alone when it comes to odd yet hilarious street names. An example is the “Road to Nowhere” that can be found in the tiny town of Iqaluit in Nunavut province.

Canada also touts a colorful list of town names, including Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, Stoner, Blow Me Down, Cow Head, Asbestos, Eyebrow, Dead Man’s Flats and Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!.
