Watch these tigers swim for the first time after being rescued

Planet Earth is a great place, thanks in large part to all of the magnificent species who call it home. However, many of them have regrettably become extinct. And, in the vast majority of situations, people are to fault. Tigers are also listed as an endangered species. There are around 3900 of these magnificent creatures remaining in the world. However, there are still many individuals working to preserve such natural wonders. Carli and Lily’s owner is one of them.

These unfortunate tigers were among 19 exotic animals seized from a bankrupt New York facility. They were rescued from filthy conditions where they had been neglected. Fortunately, they have found a new home at Safe Haven Rescue Zoo, a GFAS-certified animal refuge in a rural section of Nevada. However, because the temperatures in this area are quite high, a pool is a must. It was also a terrific chance for Carli and Lily to experience what it’s like to swim into a pool.

“They’ll be able to feel what it’s like to swim for the first time,” IFAW animal rescue operator Kelly Donithan said. “We live in a paradoxical world, where too few wild animals roam the outdoors and too many are imprisoned. This isn’t the same as conservation. Breeding big cats or other wild creatures hundreds of miles away from their natural habitat for entertainment, picture opportunities, or private possession will neither boost their numbers in the wild, nor will it effectively educate the public on what a tiger (or other wild animal) is.”

The moment these gorgeous creatures take their first steps into a pool was captured on video, and it is nothing short of heart-warming. Their expression tells it all!

The video title states, “Rescued tigers Carli and Lily now have a new home at Safe Haven Rescue Zoo.” “Safe Haven represents an oasis, nestled in a high desert valley surrounded on all sides by towering mountain peaks.” Take a look at this:
