Woman Is Perplexed When She Discovers Her Dog Wearing A Cone He No Longer Need

He put it back on himself 😂

Chief is over a year old and still very much a puppy. If there’s mischief or adventure to be had, Chief will always find it.

“He is a really naughty dog that causes all kinds of problems,” Chief’s family member Whitley Hester told The Dodo. “He really enjoys chewing on our rugs.”

Chief had recently been neutered, so he had to wear a cone for two weeks. He was irritated by the cone and grumbled the entire time. He tried to gnaw it off unsuccessfully and was clearly looking forward to the day when he could finally get it off for good.

“He had to wear it for two weeks but struggled to do so,” Hester explained. “On the first day, he was irritated. In fact, if he had it on, he refused to get in the car or even walk.”

Chief, on the other hand, handled his time with the cone admirably, and after two weeks, he was free.

Hester came out of her bedroom later that day, the day Chief finally got to take his cone off, and found something unexpected – Chief was wearing his cone again. She instantly set about determining why, and the solution was incredibly amusing.

@whitley_i_guess He did in fact, put it on himself. Hated it so much that he tore it to pieces, but now it’s an accessory?? #fyp #fypã‚· #puppy #goldenretriever ♬ original sound – Whitley

“I was shocked since I knew my mother had taken it off of him that morning,” Hester explained. “I went to inquire why he was wearing it again, and she astonished me by saying, ‘He’s wearing his cone?'”

Chief had apparently taken it upon himself, for reasons unexplained, to reapply his cone. Even though he’d actively disliked wearing it, he seemed to be okay with it – as long as it was entirely on his terms.

Hester observed Chief as he rolled around with his cone on, eating and playing with it and having a great time. He appeared content, and she had a sense he was probably simply relieved he wasn’t obliged to wear it anymore.

“I suppose he thought he had won the war,” Hester explained.

After his victory lap, Chief decided he’d had enough of wearing the cone and wanted to finish things on his own terms.
