“That is the most loyal dog I have ever seen.”
Chances are, if you pass Chloe Bonnell’s home in Tallahassee, Florida, a smiling face will be staring back at you. Atlas, a black and white dog, waits patiently for his mother to come home while sitting at the window the entire day.
The puppy’s loyalty hasn’t gone unnoticed either.
After a friend forwarded her a Facebook post about an abandoned litter of puppies, Bonnell decided to adopt Atlas in March. When she met Atlas, he wouldn’t let her go without him, even though she wasn’t sure whether she was ready for a dog.
According to Bonnell, “He came straight up to me and wouldn’t leave me alone.” “I believe that God instructed me to get that dog because He knew what was about to occur. He’s been with me throughout the entire epidemic and online teaching, and he’s my little savior.
Since Atlas is a high-energy dog, Bonnell was concerned that he might have separation anxiety once she resumed her in-person teaching.
He is really boisterous and enjoys playing. If you allow him, he will run nonstop all day long, according to Bonnell. “He simply wants to be with you,” she said. “He’s really lovely, super lively, loves people, loves kids.”
But to her astonishment, Atlas didn’t chew or destroy any items when she left him alone in the house. Instead, he spent hours simply waiting for his mother to come home from work in his favorite chair by the window.
He genuinely enjoys nothing more than to relax in the sunshine and observe his surroundings, according to Bonnell.
Last week, after a trying day at work, Bonnell came home to discover a gift waiting for her. She suspected something was awry when the UPS delivery man pulled up to her house and paused.
He addressed her as “Ma’am, may I speak with you for a moment?” I set my belongings down and went back outside to see him, expecting some unexpected awful news,” Bonnell posted on Facebook. “That is the most devoted dog I have ever seen, he continued. Does he simply remain there and stare out the window while you are away? He is sitting there every time I pass by. He doesn’t bark at me even when I approach to drop off a box. Most canines do. He merely stares at me when I knock.
He doesn’t seem to mind me, so I assume he is simply waiting for you to get home. Anyway, I constantly see him sitting at the window as I’m driving by.
The tender moment and the idea that Atlas had been able to make a difference in the life of a total stranger affected Bonnell.
You just need a pick-me-up when you’re having a horrible day, according to Bonnell. And that fulfilled my every want to the utmost perfection.
That evening, Bonnell made sure to show Atlas more adoration and care. As usual, let him be free to roam around as he pleases.
Atlas is aware that he is a good boy, and it is now evident that everyone else in the neighborhood is as well.
