She has actually’moved out’ of one of her bedrooms in order to provide extra space for the cats.
People have stereotypes about what a crazy cat woman looks like, but this is a unique situation.
Meet Lynea Lattanzio, who openly admits to being a “eccentric, crazy cat lady” with a tremendous heart for her feline companions.
She had spent virtually her entire life as an animal champion, saving as many animals as she could, but she also knew that there were still innumerable creatures that had to live on the streets. That’s why she chose to take in a slew of stray cats into her 4,200-square-foot house.
Indeed, she currently has almost a thousand cats living with her!
The entire house is littered with cats.
It’s a good thing Lattanzio’s home is so big, since she’s actually’moved out’ of one of her bedrooms to make way for the cats.
Although the house has five bedrooms, Lynea likes to live in a small trailer in the backyard. She stays close to nature and is usually surrounded by her feline companions in this way.
Lynea started the biggest no-cage feline sanctuary in the state of California about thirty years ago.
Over the years, the refuge, The Cat House of the Kings, has undoubtedly improved the lives of innumerable cats. The majority of the cats who found happiness at the refuge were stray, feral, or abandoned cats. Since its inception over three decades ago, the charity believes that they have aided about 30,000 of these felines.
According to the organization’s website, “The Cat House on the Kings is California’s biggest no-cage, no-kill, lifelong cat sanctuary and adoption center.” “Our mission is to find loving, permanent homes for rescued cats and kittens; to provide a safe, happy, and healthy home for unwanted cats and kittens in a one-of-a-kind, no-cage facility; to prevent pet overpopulation through spaying and neutering; and to educate the public about responsible pet ownership.”
“The Cat House on the Kings has saved over 30,000 cats and 7,100 dogs since its inception 29 years ago (not to mention the 56,000 animals we’ve spayed and neutered!) It presently looks for around 700 cats and kittens, a few dogs, and dozens of peacocks.”
Fortunately, Lynea can rely on the unwavering support she receives from volunteers and professionals.
All of these creatures must be fed, and someone will constantly require medical treatment. Taking care of over a thousand cats is surely no simple work, and Lynea believes that the annual cost is over 1.6 million dollars.
Adoption is available for all of the cats.
The expense of caring for these animals at Lynea’s at the shelter is significant, and the group doesn’t have a consistent source of money.
Fortunately, there was one extremely kind contributor who came through for us in a big manner.
Doreen Wallet was drowning with estates and had no idea what to do with them.
As a result, she chose to gift it to the sanctuary, giving them the opportunity to expand their refuge by at least six acres.
They were also able to construct a large cat-proof fence, allowing the cats to wander freely and without fear. Lynea’s house companions have also gotten her some attention on the internet, where she’s been called the ‘ultimate cat woman.’
Lynea’s interview and tour of her home have almost ten million views on YouTube.
One reviewer remarked, “She treats them wonderfully.” “It’s a lot better than the hoarders who have problems with their pets.” She is in desperate need of recognition. They all adore her and aren’t afraid of her, which is a wonderful blessing.”
Another person wrote,
“I don’t think she’s a crazy cat woman; she’s a nice human being who loves animals,” says the author.
