A Frantic Call Is Received By Rescuers To Assist A Mystery Animal Trapped In A Tree

“The creature sits and doesn’t move…”

Rescuers from Poland’s Krakow Society for the Protection of Animals got a panicked phone this week from a worried member of the public alerting them to a dire situation.

She’d seen what looked to be an animal in distress high up in a tree near the caller’s house. It hadn’t moved from its current location in at least two days. However, the caller was unsure of the animal’s identity. Perhaps a lizard?

The rescuers were skeptical, but they rushed to the spot just in case.

When rescuers arrived at the location specified by the caller, they discovered something slightly like a lizard.

They stated, “The brown monster is perched on a lilac branch.” “The monster sits and does not move, just as stated by the caller. His tanned skin gleams in the sunlight… We’re taking a closer look – the poor fellow has no legs or a head.”

A deeper inspection revealed the truth about the enigmatic animal. It turned out that it wasn’t a reptile at all. Or, for that matter, an animal.

It was a pastry, namely a croissant.

The rescuers were powerless to intervene.

“It’s difficult to assist something that practically knocks us off our feet,” they wrote. “An assault of laughter.”

WIKIMEDIA

Nobody knows how the croissant got lodged in a tree. But there’s no doubt that the caller had the greatest of intentions, given that she was convinced it was an animal in need.

That’s what mattered most to the rescuers called to the scene, whose duty was done before it ever started.

“We emphasize that it is always worthwhile to report if something bothers you,” they added. “It’s better to check and be pleasantly disappointed, and sometimes (sadly, very seldom) laugh, than to not check and risk a disaster.”

The only true sorrow in this scenario is that someone never got to eat their tasty-looking pastry.
