Growing and maintaining a garden can be time-consuming, but artist Raya Sader Bujana makes little plants that live forever. She handcrafts a variety of plants that may fit in your palm and is based in Barcelona. Each one is a smaller version of its real-life counterpart.
Bujana studied architecture at school but has always been interested in crafts. “The small plants began as a personal effort for me,” she explains to us. “I’m not only a miniaturist, but I also adore details, and incredibly little things are especially difficult for me.” So pushing myself to see how far I could go with details on something so minor was incredibly attractive.” She chose flora as a theme since she had her own collection of indoor plants.
Bujana frequently needs to adapt or invent techniques to match the texture and shape of the subject, depending on what she intends to accomplish. “I guess I appreciate the challenge of size and the difficulty of the material/medium itself the most,” she says. Bujana’s work is difficult to comprehend because of the remarkable amount of minute detail until she photographs the sculptures close her hand. Only then will you realize how little they are.
