Artist Constructs Stone Waves on Ocean Shores from Hypnotic Land Art

by Stephen King Leave a Comment

Amazing artwork is produced by artist Jon Foreman using the natural surroundings. He collects rocks of different sizes and shapes while walking along the shore and arranges them into mesmerizing patterns on the ground. He creates movement in the static piece by utilizing a variety of stones. This frequently entails stacking and positioning the different components according to size. As a result, a wave formation is produced, which is appropriate given that this is the location of the bulk of these components.

Foreman is dependent on the resources the environment provides because he creates land art. The UK-based creative, though, sees potential rather than this as a constraint. He adds a new hue to his palette—a crimson tone—in a work made near Gelliswick beach in Pembrokeshire. In his essay, he says that “that sea-washed Brick is a terrific hue to blend in with the more apparent stone tones like grey and brown.” Will probably work here more frequently from here on. His stunning compositions gain still more dimension from the colour.

All of Foreman’s art is put in public spaces, therefore its duration is frequently constrained. His assemblages may only be appreciated for an extended period of time through photography. Through his SmugMug site, Foreman offers reproductions of his artwork for sale.

Artist Jon Foreman creates awe-inspiring work from the nature that surrounds him.

He collects pebbles of different sizes and shapes and arranges them on the ground in mesmerizing patterns.

By using a variety of stones, he’s able to convey movement in the static work.

Often, this involves stacking and placing the individual pieces based on size.

Doing so creates a wave formation, which is fitting considering it’s where a majority of these pieces reside.
