In total darkness, it is difficult to do anything, much less capture and save a fearful dog. Suzette Hall, the company’s founder, loves to do her rescues in the morning because of this.
But when Hall urgently received a word of a screaming, very ill puppy that had been abandoned, she instantly loaded up her car with treats and a humane dog trap.
Hall admitted to leaving at midnight to The Dodo. “She was traveling along a one-lane road in the middle of nowhere. I have to find her, I knew.
Hall first struggled to locate the dog in the darkness. But she was ultimately able to find the pup thanks to a unique reflection.
Hall said, “I saw her by her eyes.” We gave her the name Moonie since the moonlight made her more visible to me.
Moonie had stunning eyes, but the rest of her body was in terrible shape. She was “skin and bones” and wore a soiled, outdated jacket, according to Hall. In fact, because Moonie was so thin, Hall was originally certain that she had captured a coyote.
She had everything, according to Hall, including mange and scabies. “That night, when I grabbed her, she smelt awful.”
Hall, though, remained at Moonie’s side the entire time, despite her state. Until the veterinarian’s office opened in the morning, the two shared a bed in the car. After seeing the vet, Moonie started receiving strict treatment for her several diseases, which called for a six-week period of seclusion.
Moonie entered foster care after completing her therapy. But because of her endearing character, her time as a “foster pup” was short-lived.
She resided in two separate foster homes, according to Hall. During her second foster placement, they had planned to place her up for adoption, but her foster mother refused to let go of the girl. We must keep her here.
Moonie “has the most beautiful life now,” according to Hall.
She has not only been prospering in her new home by the beach and has undergone a beautiful physical makeover, but she is also taking advantage of the affection and attention that come with being the only kid in her new family.
Hall said, “She looks like the most gorgeous dog you’ve ever seen in your life.” “She merits the entire world. And her tale ought to be shared.
