“We were stunned.”
Leona Klassen and her husband, Ron, were travelling along a snowy road in Canada last weekend when they came across a spectacle they will never forget.
There were five beautiful lynx out for a stroll in the winter scenery just off the road.
The couple simply had to stop for a better look.
“We were astonished,” Klassen explained. “Neither of us had ever seen a lynx, let alone five of them in a row.”
The normally elusive wild cats looked unconcerned when Klassen began photographing them, their large, fluffy coats keeping them warm in the cool February weather.
“They were peaceful and quiet,” she remarked. “They were aware of our presence yet seemed unconcerned.”
Klassen and her husband watched as the lynx moved gracefully across the snowy landscape, getting a close-up look at their family’s dynamics.
“They all came to a halt when the mother did. And when she moved, the rest did as well “Klassen said. “The mother was stately, even royal. My breath was taken away by her!”
The spectacular meeting came to an end as the wild cats crossed the road and went on their journey.
The lynx sighting was brief, but the lucky pair will remember it for the rest of their lives.
“It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that neither Ron nor I will forget!” Klassen explained.
