The Russian soccer team Zenit decided they wanted to promote animal shelters and pet adoption, so they tried to think of the best method to do it. And they were totally successful.
The group chose to do something a little more concrete than merely create some movies or other content about their topic. The players entered the field at the beginning of a game carrying one of the gorgeous shelter pups that they had partnered up with other local shelters to bring them.
Soccer players carrying lovely canines in need of loving permanent homes, which causes them to melt? There has never been a cuter thing.
The dogs varied in size and fluff, and while some of them appeared a little bewildered, they were all delighted to receive cuddles no matter where that occurred.
From the dogs themselves to the expressions on the players’ faces as they held them, everything about it was pretty darn wonderful. There hasn’t yet been discovered a more effective strategy to encourage pet adoption than this one.
Everyone is crossing their fingers that the Zenit soccer club will do this again very soon and that some of these puppies may find their forever homes as a result of this event.
