A dog’s loyalty is something special 🥲
According to a rescuer, a small Jack Russell terrier managed to stay alive for over 10 weeks in the Colorado mountains after her owner died from hypothermia, despite losing half of her body weight.
As stated by the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office, Richard Moore and his 12-pound dog Finney had embarked on a journey to climb Blackhead Peak on August 19 but did not return home.
On October 30, a hunter discovered the body of the 71-year-old in the San Juan Mountains. Remarkably, Finney was still by his side, despite weighing only 6 pounds at that point.
A recovery team was deployed the following day. Finney received a checkup and treatment from a veterinarian and is now with Moore’s family, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.
VanneBrightyn, who has been training dogs for twenty years, described Finney’s survival as a remarkable testament to her loyalty and devotion to Moore. She also noted that Jack Russells are known for being resilient and tenacious.
