These are photos of dragonflies, don’t they look like magical fairies in the fading light?

Dragonfly meaning and symbolism include opportunity, transformation, spontaneity, spiritual growth, ancient wisdom, and other special qualities. These beautiful winged insects have fascinated people for thousands of years. In fact, the dragonfly spirit animal is a powerful totem that appears in the spiritual beliefs of many cultures.

While it’s hard to find specific stories in Celtic mythology that involve dragonflies, there are many Celtic stories about fairies. If you met someone who has never seen a fairy, you might describe them as tiny, human-like beings with dragonfly wings. Thus, many historians believe that Celtic fairies were inspired by dragonflies.

Celtic Dragonfly Mythology: Fairies

If you want to see something enchanted and breathtaking. People have described them as fairies, which is wonderful because all of this beauty is right in front of us, but we are unable to see it.

Enchanting! I recall many delicate fairies, that are obviously modeled on dragonflies. I always wanted one to land on my hand….as would fireflies.

When my son passed away and I was putting new flooring in his house I told him if he was here I knew he would love it. I looked over and on the inside of his window, on the screen was a beautiful dragonfly. I know it was him letting me know he approved.
