Grizzly Bear Belly Flops Into Pool, Turns Around And Gives Huge Smile To Camera

A grizzly bear belly flopped into a Florida pool in the hopes of cooling off from the summer heat.

In the video, four-year-old Bruiser climbs the pool ladder before diving horizontally into the water.

After a quick shake of his wet fur after hitting the water, he’s off to play with his toy in the water.

The 600-pound grizzly bear is kept at the Single Vision wildlife refuge in Melrose, Florida, where temperatures have reached 90 degrees Fahrenheit this month.

Because having a blow-up water toy with his big claws would be impossible, Bruiser has a surfboard to play with in his pool.

According to its Facebook profile, Single Vision Wildlife Sanctuary is a nonprofit organization “committed to endangered species education.”

White tigers, Florida panthers, and, of course, Bruiser the grizzly are among the sanctuary’s vulnerable endangered creatures.

Making waves: Bruiser’s body hits the water and he causes a huge splash, before coming up from under water, shaking his fur and recomposing himself

Many species are endangered, according to the firm, because to unlawful poaching and habitat damage.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, the footage of Bruiser plunging into Single Vision’s pool comes as the State of Florida declared on Wednesday that black bear hunting would return to Florida for the first time since 1994.

With the agreement, the state will hold a one-week daytime black bear shooting season in four locations in October in the aim of reducing the animal’s number.
