A wild bobcat makes a very lengthy jump over water appear easy

A bunch of fisherman saw something extraordinary while crab bing on Pecan Island, Louisiana. They were amazed when they saw a wild bobcat demonstrating its amazing agility skills. Fortunately, one of them managed to capture the once-in-a-lifetime moment on his iPhone.

Bobcats, like the majority of felines, have amazing agility. Mother Nature made them natural climbers and swimmers, so they’re always on the lookout for prey, even in the water. However, because these magnificent cats are nocturnal and secretive, obtaining a sight of one during the day is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Even more so if the scene depicts the lovely kitty flying gracefully over a river.

The bobcat was strolling down a weir when it came upon a gape, and the only way to get across was to attempt an impossible jump. Despite the fishermen’s certainty that the wild animal would not survive, the bobcat made things appear so simple. It easily sailed over the water, making the massive leap appear ludicrous.

“We were just out fishing for blue crab near Pecan Island,” said the man who captured the unbelievable moment on tape. “All of a sudden, a massive bobcat appeared across the weir.” I reached for my phone, expecting him to get soaked, but he shocked us all.”

Jumps like these are part of a bobcat’s regular routine, despite the fact that the now-viral film astonished everyone. “[The bobcat] is trying to avoid getting wet, and considering how nimble and athletic they are, hopping across the bridge is very simple,” Laurel Serieys, a wildlife scientist at the University of Cape Town, told Bored Panda. “It was most likely hunting nearby and trying to cross the lake from one side to the other.”

Take a look at the incredible scene below:
