This week, a picture showing the exact moment a bald eagle caught a Canada goose went viral online.

When the amazing sight was captured on their security cameras, Jeff Nelson and his coworker Cory Keller were at work at the Wanapum Dam on the Columbia River in Washington State.

Pictures of a large bald eagle in flight with a Canada goose in its talons have since been shared across Facebook and reposted on Reddit, where they have received more than 63,000 upvotes.

Nelson told Newsweek, “We were watching our security cameras at work.” Cory spotted a very large object fly by, so we sped up the video to see it in slow motion.

The moment a bald eagle flew by with a Canada goose in its talons was captured on security camera at Wanapum Dam on the Columbia River in Washington State.

The two ran the footage back and were astounded by what they saw.

When we realized what was actually happening, Nelson recalled, “we were all shocked and amazed.” “Every day, we see a variety of animals, including eagles, beavers, skunks, otters, and other creatures. A bald eagle hauling a Canada goose is something we rarely see.”

North America is the home of the bald eagle, a predatory bird. They are actually a sea eagle, and they are frequently seen in inland areas along rivers and large lakes. The impressive wingspan of an adult male can reach 6.6 feet, while the wingspan of a female can reach 8 feet.

The Canada goose has a black head and neck and a brown back and light breast. The various subspecies of Canada geese, which are native to North America, range in size from the cackling goose, which weighs 4.4 pounds, to the mature giant Canada goose, which can weigh up to 14 pounds.

Nelson recorded the security tape on his phone and was even more amazed to see that the eagle wasn’t by itself.

Actually, a pair of bald eagles was present, he said. The bird that caught the goose shared it with its partner before landing on a light pole.

This combined image shows the eagle flying with the goose in its talons, left, and the two bald eagles sharing the goose on top of a light pole, right.

The Grant County Public Utility District, whose CCTV system produced the video, is represented by Chuck Allen, who said: “The video illustrates how hydropower and nature coexist along the Columbia River. We take care of the habitat along the shorelines for animals like Canada geese and bald eagles. Additionally, the Wanapum Dam secures the annual migration of millions of salmon and generates enough clean, renewable hydropower to power a city the size of Seattle.”

Nelson posted the images on Facebook, where they were subsequently re-posted on Reddit by another internet user.

Over 2,700 comments were left on the social sharing website after the unusual sight went viral.

“I like to think they’re friends and the eagle is giving our boy a ride to the party,” one Redditor jokingly wrote.

One more said: “That bald eagle was escorting that injured Canada goose to the closest veterinarian. Set the record straight.”

Another Redditor questioned, “Is this a preview of the NHL playoffs?
