Internet Discovers Snow for Winter-Loving Old Dog With Days to Live in the Middle of Summer

Dog owners have a reputation for going above and above for their pets. One such person from Calgary, Canada, wished to improve the quality of life for their 11 1/2-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog. They looked online to locate snow in the middle of July because she wouldn’t be able to make it to her favourite season of winter and they wanted to make the most of her time with them.

@canadianbuilt said on Reddit, “Our 11.5-year-old Berner has a couple of days remaining.” She adores the snow but won’t survive the winter. Does anyone know of any rinks or other places that have a decent snowbank behind them where she may go spend one final time lying in the snow? Dozens of thoughtful dog enthusiasts responded to the query with advice on where to locate snow for Brooke, the Bernese Mountain Dog. Eventually, the OP replied, “Thanks, everyone… The Bowness Sportsplex workers started dumping snow outdoors for us right away. She had her final dosage of snow, and not long after that, she passed away.

@canadianbuilt wrote: “My girlfriend and I have looked over all of your lovely notes so many times, and they always make us both cry.” The fact that literally hundreds of individuals expressed their pity and compassion to us helps a lot, to be honest. They stated that Brooke, their best companion since they first met her dog four years ago, was their girlfriend’s dog.

Brooke enjoyed taking long strolls, playing in the snow when it fell, paddling along the Bow River, snowshoeing, and, if the weather wasn’t too hot, running alongside us on the mountain bike paths. Fortunately, Brooke was able to spend her final hours with the people who mattered the most to her after lying in the snow.

Where can I locate snow for my Bernese Mountain Dog, Brooke? was a question posted on the internet by a dog owner in Calgary, Canada.

With only a few days to live, Brooke, who was 11 and a half years old, would not see another winter, her favourite season.

After posting their question on the internet, @canadianbuilt was showered with recommendations from fellow dog lovers.

The Bowness Sportsplex in Calgary allowed Brooke to spend her last moments on a little patch of snow.
