He refused to give up ❤️
Maurizio wasn’t in the best of condition when he was rescued in by Newborn Kitten Rescue in July. The motherless 10-week-old stray kitten required rapid veterinary care in order to survive.
Maurizio is recovering thanks to some perseverance and a lot of love, and his internal and external changes are almost too good to be true.
According to Maurizio’s foster mother, Angelica Johnson, “He had a moderate eye infection and was dangerously underweight for his age.” The most important aspect of his care was keeping him on pace with weight gain.
The adorable kitty took some time to recover, but Johnson didn’t lose up on him.
When I first saw [Maurizio], I had such a strong connection to him, Johnson remarked. “I recall crying and having a heart-to-heart with him during one of his feedings in the middle of the night. He had to, I had to.
Finding a kitten food that he would consistently consume required some diet trial and error, according to Johnson. He continued to follow a strict feeding plan, eating every four hours throughout the day and at night. He also got daily subcutaneous fluids to stay hydrated.
All of it, thankfully, worked. Every day, Maurizio improved a bit more, and his change went far beyond just his appearance.
“He is doing wonderful now,” Johnson remarked. He currently spends his days with a pal named Milana and is an incredible social lovebug. He adores every cat and person he meets. Additionally, he spends his days moving quickly.

Johnson finds it incredible how quickly Maurizio has changed.
The greatest word to describe my feelings on his transformation is “proud” Johnson remarked. I like to think that he put in the extra effort by being a fighter, even though I know it required some effort on my part to get him there.
In the upcoming months, Maurizio will start looking for his forever family. He is eager to love and be loved for the rest of his life.
