“Bear will forever and always be the best boy” ❤️

Bear adored his mother, Madison Szekeres, above all else. She adored him. When Bear, a 6-year-old black Lab, died unexpectedly, Szekeres honored him in a way that would last forever: he got a tattoo of his favorite feature, his nose.

MADISON SZEKERES

“I chose to do his nose because his paw print was so large,” Szekeres explained to The Dodo. “I didn’t think I’d seen many people with their dog’s nose print, and it will always remind me of him.”

Szekeres commissioned an ink print of Bear’s paw and nose from a coworker.

“I decided to dedicate my wrist tattoo to [the print] of his nose,” Szekeres explained. “He was the happiest, most outgoing pup I’d ever met, and there wasn’t a single person he didn’t adore.” His tail was never still.”

MADISON SZEKERES

Szekeres’ mother surprised the family with the arrival of Bear in 2015.

“He was very shy and couldn’t walk on a leash,” Szekeres explained. “He was the most loving and happy dog we could have asked for.” There will be no one else like him.”

MADISON SZEKERES

Bear died unexpectedly following an emergency surgery. Szekeres was shocked to learn that her beloved dog had died.

“I went to work on Tuesday with the intention of bringing fluids home for him,” Szkeres explained. “Bear sadly died unexpectedly at home.”

“Bear will always be the best boy ever,” Szekeres declared. “We will never forget his unconditional love for our family and the joy he was able to bring out in others.”

MADISON SZEKERES

Bear’s nose tattoo will always remind Szekeres of their friendship.

“Although he left us far too soon, he came here and accomplished far more than we could have hoped for,” Szekeres said. “We are grateful to him for the best six years he has given to our family.”
